In 2022 Russia has invaded Ukraine causing the rapid escalation of the Russo-Ukrainian War. Although the war began in 2014, the invasion has created a massive shock in Europe, giving rise to the fastest growing refugee crisis since WW II, and at the same time Russia being accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity. Living and experiencing the era of information, disinformation and the media portrayal of the war, provides opportunities for various interpretations and multiple narratives of the events. The Russo-Ukrainian situation overshadowed entirely the events in Afghanistan, Ethiopia, Iraq, Libya, Palestine, Syria, and Yemen and the media deservingly have been criticised for racial bias. We all know though that there’s always only one choice. And that one is peace. People know that: political leaders don’t.
